On Tuesday, May 24 I went in for my regular doctors appointment, having made it past the weekend, yay! The dr checked me and said I was dilated to a 5 and that my bag of water was bulging. He was afraid that if my water broke on its own that the cord would come first, resulting in a c-section because she still hadn't dropped. He sent me right over to the hospital and things got started. They started me on the medication for being positive for strep b, after the first dose they then started pitocin to start contractions. At 2:00 they broke my water, this was the worse part because a nurse was pushing baby down while the dr broke my water. It was very uncomfortable and made me feel like I couldn't breathe. I then got an epidural and just hung out until it was time to push, two pushes later and Megan was here. All though we didn't know she was going to be Megan yet, so the dr and nurses named her after them resulting in Wendy Peggy Barry! Those are good names but we liked Megan Elise Snow better!
