2 weeks

Spencer is now 2 weeks old and had his 2 week check up today. He now weighs 8 lbs 6 oz. I couldn't help but think that that was what Emily started out at. Anyway, all is well. Spencer is a great baby, a joy to have. I love holding him, smelling him, kissing him, etc... I could go on for quite awhile. The down side is that I took Timmy with us to Spencer's appointment so that the doctor could look at Timmy at the same time. He has an ear infection and doesn't feel very good, but now that he has medication it shouldn't be long before he's up and at it again.

So, I have a question. You know how people say that when a baby smiles in their sleep that angels are talking to them? Well, I was wondering.......

WHO IN THE WORLD IS TALKING TO HIM NOW??

Introducing......

So, my doctor induced me a week early and I was completely okay with it. Jeff and I went in at 7:30 am and found out that I was already 5 centimeters dilated. My doctor would not start labor until I had had the medication for being positive for GBS. This was what took the longest. After having received the minimal amount of meds they started the poticin and doc came and broke my water at 12:30. Spencer Alan Snow was born at 3:15 pm on Friday November 21st. He was 7lb 14oz and 20 in long. I'm not explaining any of the pictures, I don't think they need any and it's time for Thanksgiving dinner. Spencer and I are doing great, Jeff and the kids absolutely love Spencer!

Couldn't Sleep

The other morning I couldn't sleep, so I decided to get the video camera and record the reason for this. I hope this doesn't gross anyone out (it does Jeff). I also have to tell you that he had the hiccups and was moving even more before I got up and got the camera! Anyway, I had a doctors appointment yesterday. Doc says that I'm three centimeters dilated already. Maybe we'll have a baby sooner than we thought! I still feel great!

Happy Halloween!!

Its taken me awhile to post, but I'm trying my best. I can't seem to keep up with everything these days. Anyway, the kids had a great Halloween. They were able to dress up four times in their costumes and they didn't even mind that their costumes are the same ones that they have been wearing the last three years. They dressed up for the Greenville Carnival, Old Navy had a thing going that if the kids came in their costumes they got a free shirt so we did that, they dressed up for the ward Halloween party, and then Timmy got to wear his to school on Halloween, so Emily did too. On Tuesday before Halloween we carved pumpkins. It was a lot of fun and Bruce was right there with us trying his hardest to eat any little pieces he could. After we carved the pumpkins I thought it would be cool to make them into something. Timmy wanted to make his look like Frankenstein and Emily wanted hers to look like a princess. I think they turned out pretty cute. Friday was trick or treating and we had a really fun time doing this too. I thought it was going to be a pain, but the kids loved it and didn't complain once about how much walking we did. We passed one of our neighbors a couple of times and he seemed pretty conserned that I was walking so much. He said, " You better be careful or you're going to end up having that baby tonight." I just laughed and said that I didn't think it would happen. If playing volleyball, running up and down the stairs with laundry, and all the other things I do doesn't do it, I don't think walking around is going to do it for me! Anyway, we had a great Halloween and I hope everyone else did too. Here are some pics.

Halloween is coming!

Halloween is still 15 days away, but the kids are sooo excited for it. On Saturday we went to Micheal's and they were doing a pumpkin craft for $5. I couldn't pass it up since the pumpkins themselves are usually $11.99 and they provided all the stuff to decorate the pumpkins! I would have liked to have decorated one too, but thought that I should just help the kids. Timmy made his pumpkin into a mummy and then thought it would be cool to add antennas! Emily made a cute little girl and then took the sticker off the bottom of the pumpkin and made her a pirate! It was a fun family outing!
Since Timmy didn't have school today I thought it would be a good idea to make Halloween cookies! We had a good time and we got to use the cookie cutters that we got on clearance for $5 (I was happy about the price). The kids didn't help make the dough so I don't have pictures of that, they were busy playing some weird super hero dog game. I didn't care since they were actually playing together instead of fighting! Here they are cutting the dough.

This is before we baked them!

Here are a couple pics of the kids decorating the cookies!

These are the finished product. They look pretty good, huh?

Okay, I'm going to try to catch everyone up on the last couple of weeks. I guess I'll start with us cleaning out the garage. It was hard work and it took all day, but we got it done. Now the car and motorcycle fit in nicely and we still have plenty of room to move around.

This is how Jeff parked our vehicles right before we started the clean up. I thought it was funny!

I had one of my flowers that I planted early this year bloom. It was really pretty, but didn't last long.

We had a visiter for a short time. He wasn't pretty to look at, but I've heard that it's a really good visiter to have. I first saw him when I was looking out our basement window and a day a or so later we found him on one of the plants in the front of the house.

Our praying mantis visiter.

There he is with his wings out.
Our visiter with Emily and Jeff.
Here he is changing hands.
And there he is on my belly.

Emily started a little neighorhood preschool, since we found out that headstart was full (don't know why they couldn't have told me that when I talked to them on the phone). Anyway, there are six kids and each of us moms will take a week and do the teaching. It's only two days a week for about 2 hours. She likes it and I'll still continue to do the work books that we have as well with her.

Bruce had to have surgery on his other eye on Monday. GRRRR! I hope that is the end of vet visits for him. I really think that if Jeff and the kids didn't like him so much I would just find a new home for him.

His eye isn't messed up in this picture, but thought he looked cute with his mohawk.

I had my 30 week doctors appointment. Everything is good. Blood pressure, baby's heart beat, baby movement, weight gain, everything is good. I feel pretty good too. I've had several people ask if I was ready for it to be over yet and I say no. This pregnancy has been very kind to me and I'm thankful for it. I'm having a hard time believing that I don't really have a long time to go still. I only have 2 months and a few days left. We better hurry up and pick a name! Oh, volleyball started again! Yeah, that's right I'm going and I'm playing! I like it, it's fun, and it gets me out of the house for an hour.

Jeff has been staying really busy. He goes to his classes in the morning and then to work in the afternoons. On Saturdays we have been working on the sprinkler system. I guess I don't really help much, but I try my best. He has it hooked up the water now and it's hooked up to the little thing that turns the sprinklers on and off. He has also put in about seven sprinkler heads and is now working on the last stretch and the side yard will be done. Everything else will have to wait until next year.

So, I think the last bit of news is that Timmy finally lost his other bottom tooth. He pulled it out at school on Thursday. I was a little disappointed that it didn't happen at home, but there will be others right?

Here he is missing teeth, dirty face and all!
